My mom has some sort of weird social taboo regarding talking on the phone. She seems to think that it's the most rude and inappropriate thing in the world to tell the person on the line to hold on. Whenever I try to tell her something while she's on the phone, she either walks away so she won't have to hear it or she puts the phone down for a few seconds so I can tell her what I need and then either pretends that the line was breaking up and she couldn't hear what they just said, or she just keeps going "uh-huh, uh-huh".
I don't understand why she can't just say "will you hold on a second?". I tried confronting her about it but she just said "Are you crazy??? I'm not doing that!" |
